Marine Corps' 249th Birthday Celebration with Guitars for Vets

On Sunday, November 10, the United States Marine Corps turns 249, and we're throwing a banger of a party to celebrate and raise funds to help vets struggling with PTSD and other emotional distress.

As many of you know, our own Assistant Brewer, Nick Fonte, is a veteran of the Marine Corps, and we're honored to help raise funds for a fantastic organization that takes direct action to help our veterans.

Doors open at noon and the party runs all afternoon until 5pm.

THE LINEUP:
Food by the Semper Fi chef from 12pm to sellout
Live music all afternoon by:
- Gatorwater
- The League of Erics
- Andrew D. Huber

NO COVER! Please consider a donation and look for raffle/silent auction items.

ABOUT THE CHARITY
Guitars for Vets (G4V) is a national 501(c)3 non-profit organization. We currently operate over 100 chapters in over 40 states. Over the years, we have refined a guitar lesson program that provides Veterans struggling with PTSD and other emotional distress a unique therapeutic alternative. Our program is primarily run by volunteers working at Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) facilities, community based medical centers, Vet Centers, and Veterans service organizations.

We put the healing power of music in the hands of heroes. Through our work, we help restore feelings of joy and purpose that Veterans can lose after suffering traumatic experiences and help Veterans productively reintegrate into their communities.

To date, G4V has administered over 40,000 guitar lessons and distributed over 4,000 guitars to Veterans. Over the years, we have observed the many ways that our program is enriching the lives of Veterans suffering with mental, physical and emotional distress. Veterans participating in our program have reported better social interactions, the substitution of music for medication, an improved ability at work and greater feelings of personal independence.

Sunday Sessions: the Twangtown Paramours

Join us for a special edition of Sunday Sessions as we welcome Nashville's Twangtown Paramours! Music starts at 1pm with food by Brew Town Bites from 12pm to sellout.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS:
Nashville-based husband-and-wife duo Mike T. Lewis and MaryBeth Zamer, known on stage as The Twangtown Paramours, have made a name for themselves defying boundaries with their award-winning catalogue of Americana, folk, and blues anthems. With a slew of accolades for their three full-length albums, they’ve earned a loyal following, balancing serious instrumental and vocal chops with witty stage banter and a lighthearted approach to life. They don’t take themselves, or the world, too seriously.

With their third album, Double Down on a Bad Thing, The Twangtown Paramours shift gears to showcase a full band, electric, groove-oriented, upbeat, soul-infused, and retro blues sound. “We want people to have fun, to cheer up, to dance, and to start sporting a positive attitude, dammit,” says Mike.

Your Saturday at our St. Charles brewery is about to ROCK as we bring in a fast 'n fun two-piece: The Ex-Bombers!

ABOUT THE ARTISTS:
The Ex-Bombers are a delightfully sinister psychedelic blues duo. They play suspiciously resonant songs using only the thunder of electric 8-string bass and drums, a pair of wrecking ball voices, and a delightful kaleidoscope perspective of a world on fire.

Since 2010 they have been amassing a cult following through their scintillating live shows and five electrifying vinyl releases on Cavetone Records.

Miles Over Mountains Bluegrass Duo

Sen & Caleb of Miles Over Mountains play a duo show for FREE from 6 to 9 at our St. Charles brewery on Friday, Sept 6!

Food by the Curious Crow Food Truck from 5pm to sellout.

Event will be outside (weather permitting) bringing live music to St. Charles on a Friday Night!

ABOUT THE BAND:

Hailing from McHenry, Illinois, a small town on the outskirts of Chicago, Miles Over Mountains is a familial unit of like minded midwestern musicians. For the past 10 years, the group has been forging their own progressive acoustic sound, rooted in bluegrass, but shaped around original songs, reinterpretations of their favorite writers, and layered instrumental prowess. Known best for their live show energy and deep connection with their audience, the band brings that rare combination of music you can’t help but dance to, and emotive ballads that will have you suddenly questioning the meaning of life.

“Our live offerings are meant to drive the vehicle in a sense, gas the tank as it were. But the intent is for that dynamic to shift in the same way as one's inner thoughts and emotions; Ups and downs, failures and successes, desire and fulfillment, darkness and light.” says mandolinist and founding member Sean Shiel.

The quartet, made up of Phil Hoffman (upright bass), Caleb Peters (guitar), Sean Shiel (mandolin) & Pete Smith (banjo), originally came together through the midwestern bluegrass scene, and a love of similar musical intentions.

“Something all the band members have connected over is an interest in many contemporary styles of music outside of bluegrass; country, rock and roll, punk rock, and even some classical music. I think that shared interest comes out in our playing and song crafting styles,” they explain.

The band credits their regional community with the ability to envision a future for themselves in professional music.

“We've always been working alongside and with our fellow musical counterparts/colleagues on shared bills, festivals and have gotten to watch them grow. Having the chance to interact with so many great bands doing the same thing as us has given us the opportunity to learn by example and set goals, while at the same time, the vision to define our own identity along the way.”

Marché des Fermiers Barrel Aged Saison Release

What's this? A barrel aged release that's not an imperial stout? YES.

Pushing the boundaries of our BA program further than ever, we're pleased to announce the release of Marché des Fermiers, a peach saison aged 15 months in hand-selected bourbon barrels.

A (long) while back, we partnered with William Becker (aka: Bionic Bill) to bring his super saison recipe to life on a commercial scale. We tucked a few barrels away and the even longer wait began.

Now, on Friday, August 30, it's finally time to release. Limited bottles will go on sale at noon, both in-person and with a small online allocation as well.

Stop by at noon to try it on tap and take bottles home, or later in the day to enjoy food by Fernando's Street Kitchen starting at 5pm and music by Cheryl Rodey at 6pm.

A perfect way to wrap up the summer and launch into Labor Day Weekend. We hope to see you then.

Bottle limits, pricing, and distro TBD. Check back for updates.
