The Taproom is (Partially) RE-OPENING

Tamaki+in+glass.jpg

Hey, everyone. In case we haven’t mentioned it lately, we are extremely grateful for the support and love you’ve shown us over the past few months. We literally wouldn’t be here without all of the online orders that helped us stay afloat. Thank you.

Now for the good news: starting Friday, June 26, our taproom will be partially reopened! We will now be able to offer indoor and outdoor seating (weather pending) AND continue online sales for curbside pick-up (bit.ly/riverlands).

We’re excited to have people back inside with us, but there are some important health and safety precautions we need your help with. Check out what we’re doing to make this weekend safe and fun for as many people as safely possible.

  • We are now back to welcoming all ages in the taproom. We politely ask that if you bring children or anyone under 21 that they remain seated with your party at all times.

  • Hours for the taproom AND beer garden are 12pm to 10pm, Sunday - Thursday and 12pm to 11pm Friday and Saturday.

  • Entry may sometimes be through the beer garden only - please look for signage on the front door. When arriving to sit in the beer garden, please wait to be seated by a beertender to make sure you’re given a sanitized table. Our beer garden will be open weather pending.

  • Tables are first come, first served, no reservations. Parties are limited to eight (8) or fewer, depending on table size. Indoor seating will be limited and tables/chairs cannot be moved or combined for larger parties.

  • Masks MUST be worn any time you are not seated. That includes going to the restroom and standing in line to order. This isn’t a debate, if you forget then we will ask nicely to put it back on when walking around to order or go to the bathroom. We reserve the right refuse service if someone refuses to wear a mask and will be asked to leave.

  • Both Indoor and outdoor seating will have self-service at the left side of the bar, socially spaced appropriately. Please follow the signs and floor markings for the beer line and wear your mask.

  • If you’re seated inside the taproom, please remain at your table except to order, use the restroom, or leave. Please to not float from table to table or change tables without discussing with a server. There will be NO standing room inside or seats at the bar itself.

  • We have started accepting cash again but very much prefer you use electronic payments to keep things cleaner (credit/debit/etc.)

  • Outdoor food will be permitted at times when a food truck is not on premise. See our event page for details. Please dispose of your garbage when finished.

  • Remember: if you feel sick at all or have been exposed to COVID, please stay home.

Thank you in advance for your patience while we get used to these changes and for following these simple rules to help things go smoothly. We really only get one shot at doing this right.

Head to our online store (bit.ly/riverlands) and check out our currently offerings. We have 32oz crowlers, 16oz can four packs, snacks, merch, and more available. Online tipping is strongly encouraged to assist our staff, some of whom rely solely on their work here at our St. Charles brewery.

2) Select a Pick-Up Date/Time

During checkout, you can select a date and time to pick-up your order. We ask for an hour to prep your order. If you receive an email stating your order is ready, you’re welcome to pick it up before or after your scheduled time during pick-up hours (12-8pm).

Follow us on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter for updates on our new can and crowler releases.

An Update About the State of Our Brewery

A quick update about how things are going at our brewery in St. Charles:

- Online pre-sales (bit.ly/riverlands) and curbside pick-up have been a lifesaver for us, but they would mean nothing without your support. Thank you for continuing to provide us with both the revenue to stay open during this time AND giving us work to do. It’s work that we already loved, even though we miss seeing people gathered in our taproom.

- So far, we have been able to keep our entire staff employed, full-timers and part-timers alike, due to your overwhelming support. We’ve had to make adjustments: shorter shifts for some, longer days for others, and basically converting our taproom and bar staff into a crowler-canning factory. As long as we are able to give everyone hours...we will.

- “Are you still brewing?”
Yes, yes we are. As long as it’s safe for us to work and we aren’t forced to stop, we will keep making beer.

- “What else can we do to help?”

Keep supporting small businesses, whether ours or others, as much as you can.
Help support our staff, some of whom have reduced hours at their other jobs, by tipping on your order at checkout OR using the Virtual Tip item in the online store.

Thank you again for the humbling amount of support you’ve given us these past few weeks. We look forward to serving you far into the future.

UPDATE REGARDING THE CORONA VIRUS

Hi Folks,

As you know, all bars and restaurants have been ordered to shut down until at least March 30. All of our events until then, food trucks, trivia, live music, etc are therefore cancelled and we will not be open to the public for in-house consumption.

We are making arrangements to keep employees working and making sure we can keep the lights on and beer brewing during these trying time. Over the last few days, many of you have asked how someone can help Riverlands, and the answer is easy - buy some of our beer!

The good news is that we have been given permission to continue beer sales for To-Go orders only.

So how does this work? It’s easy…

  1. Click on this link here

  2. Click ‘Order Now

  3. Select your items

  4. Pay

  5. And then swing by the taproom in about an hour of your confirmation order (please be mindful of our limited hours Noon-8PM Wednesday - Sunday, Closed Monday & Tuesday)

Taproom too far away? Be sure to checkout our distribution webpage to see where we typically distribute our beer and CALL AHEAD to see what’s available on the shelves.

Thank you and keep supporting small business!

Update on our Year One Anniversary Party

Folks, we have a lot to say, so grab a beer and please read the following announcement if you plan to attend our Year One Anniversary on Saturday, March 14.

As we mentioned yesterday, we at Riverlands have been monitoring the coronavirus situation closely over the past few days and weighing options for our one year anniversary party tomorrow, March 14th. We’ve reviewed all of our cleaning and sanitation procedures and re-doubled our efforts to provide a safe and clean environment.

We’ve decided at this time that the party on Saturday, 3/14, will go on as planned.

Here are the details you need to know. If you have further questions, please email us directly at info@riverlandsbrewing.com

BOTTLE RELEASE

  • Our anniversary beer, Riverlands I, a Weller bourbon barrel-aged imperial stout, will be sold out of the BACK of the brewery starting at 12pm. If you do NOT want to attend the party, you are 100% able to purchase your bottles without setting foot inside the brewery.

  • Bottles are $25 each, limit TWO per person. We will also have bundles available of two bottles, two anniversary glasses, and a Riverlands tote for $65. These glasses are extremely limited and only available in the bundles.

  • Once you’ve purchased bottles, you may enter the taproom from the FRONT ENTRANCE per usual. This will allow us to maintain an accurate occupancy count.

  • PLEASE NOTE: To help prevent the spread of germs, give each other extra space in line and remember that NO BOTTLE SHARING IS PERMITTED.

ANNIVERSARY PARTY

  • This is strictly a 21-AND-OVER EVENT. No one under 21 will be admitted.

  • Doors to the taproom open at noon. That DOES NOT mean you MUST be here at noon. The party will be going on all day and evening. There is plenty of beer to go around and always more coming down the pipeline. Let’s spread the love a bit.

  • We have a heated tent set up outside to allow for more space, and beer will be pouring there as well. Enter through the taproom first, then proceed to the tent through our side door. Outside, you can add to a tab you’ve already opened at the bar inside or pay as you go.

  • We will be operating very strictly UNDER our total occupancy to allow for more space for guests.

  • Chuck’s Wood-Fired Pizza will be serving from 12-8pm. PLEASE, NO OUTSIDE FOOD DURING THIS EVENT. Support our vendor and friend.

  • Make It a Double, a local modern bluegrass duo, will be performing from 1-4pm.

  • Matt Keen, a local solo artist, will be performing from 6-9pm.

STEPS WE’RE TAKING

  • As always, we’ll be taking sanitation VERY seriously during this event. Even so, we’re stepping up our cleaning even more, with multiple bathroom, table, chair, touchscreen, menu, and other high-touch area wipe-downs per shift.

  • The health of our employees is being monitored closely and anyone exhibiting any symptoms will be staying home.

  • You’ll notice our staff washing their hands continuously throughout their shifts and cleaning surfaces constantly. Please be patient with them if it takes a little longer to get a beer for you.

  • Glassware will be washed, rinsed, and sanitized in Ecolab sanitizing products as always. A fresh, clean glass will be used for every single pour.

  • There will be no menus on tables. Please refer to our menu board, menus at the bar (which will be sanitized between customers), our website, or on the Untappd app.

  • We are removing all board/card games/shuffleboard pucks and no lawn games will be outside.

  • We will be keeping the gathering well under the current recommendation of 250 people giving by authorities. Please be understanding if you are not allowed to enter upon arriving.

WHAT YOU CAN DO TO HELP

  • PLEASE DO NOT ATTEND if you are exhibiting signs of fever, cough, fatigue, or if you fall into one or more of the CDC's high risk groups. (https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/)

  • Maintain a WIDER PERSONAL SPACE than normal while in line and in the taproom.

  • DO NOT SHARE BEVERAGES with others, inside or outside of the taproom.

  • REPLACE handshakes, hugs, and high-fives with nods, smiles, and kind words.

  • BRING YOUR EMPTY GLASSWARE to the bar and DISPOSE OF YOUR GARBAGE in one of our many receptacles to limit the number of touches throughout the day.

  • DRINK RESPONSIBLY AND MAKE PLANS for your safe return home after the event.

We’re incredibly grateful for the past year we’ve been able to share with you all, and we want to celebrate accordingly. Let’s all do our part to do so in a safe and healthy way.

Year One: Details on our Upcoming Anniversary Party

AnniversaryYearOneDesktopBanner (2).png

Riverlands is Turning One…Come Celebrate With Us

Year one is in the books, and what a year it’s been. We sincerely hope you’ve been enjoying the ride as much as we have. Now…it’s time to show our gratitude and celebrate. Join us Saturday, March 14, for our Year One Anniversary Party.

Here’s what going down:

BOTTLE RELEASE

Riverlands I - Our Barrel-Aged Anniversary Imperial Stout

Riverlands I - Our Barrel-Aged Anniversary Imperial Stout

At noon, we will be releasing bottles of Riverlands I, our anniversary imperial stout aged in Weller barrels for 12 months. No adjuncts. Just a pure, rich, delicious 14% stout with plenty of barrel character.

Bottles will be sold individually for $25 or in bundles of two with two of our new anniversary glasses and a Riverlands bottle tote for $65. Limit two bottles or one bundle per person.

Bottles will go on sale at NOON, March 14, out of the back of our brewery, much like we did for Black Friday. If the line looks like it will exceed the bottles available, we’ll take count and hand out tickets to those who will be able to get a full allocation (two bottles). Cash or credit accepted. You must be present to purchase: absolutely no save-sies or dibs, no matter who you know. Bring your ID.

TAPROOM PARTY

Meanwhile, our taproom will be open normal business hours, 12pm - 10pm. We’ll have a taplist full of beers, including:

  • Riverlands I Anniversary Stout,

  • A brand new Anniversary Double IPA with Citra, Galaxy, and El Dorado hops

  • Acid Prism: Blackout

  • Acid Rainbow: Beermosa

  • Prouder Fox NE DIPA

  • and much, much more.

Yes…it will be a busy day. Keep in mind our occupancy is 100 people inside the taproom, so there may be a wait to get in at times. To help, we will have a tent set up on the south edge of the building for overflow which will give us some additional occupancy. Entrance will be through the front door only.

If you’re not worried about the bottle release and just want to come party with us, we highly suggest coming a little later in the day. We’ll have plenty of the anniversary beers on tap to last through the day.

FOOD

Chuck’s Wood-Fired Pizza will be serving their killer ‘za from noon to 8pm, with up to three ovens going to help keep you fed. We’ll also have our taproom snacks available, including Gnarly Knots Pretzel Chips and Mama Lee’s Popcorn.

ENTERTAINMENT

Make It A Double will be playing in our taproom from 1-4pm, bringing their modern bluegrass and folks tunes along to help get us all in the party mood.

Matt Keen will play for the first time at our taproom from 6-9pm. Matt is well known in the area for his gritty, soulful acoustic performances.

PARKING

Our commercial lot is all communal, so you may park anywhere with DESIGNATED PARKING LINES in our sub-division. That said, please be respectful. Do NOT park on grass, along roads, or blocking loading docks/entrances/etc.

We HIGHLY recommend carpooling, taking a cab or Uber, or walking/biking if you’re local (weather pending).

NOTE: While we’re a family-friendly taproom, we HIGHLY SUGGEST leaving the kids home for this one. It’s going to be busy, with many adult bodies moving about, and limited seating. Grab a sitter and enjoy a day off.
